Bio
Coach Aaron Williamson enters the 2026 season as the Head Boys Track & Field Coach and Varsity Cornerbacks Coach at Lorena High School. He also teaches Government and Economics.
Williamson joined the Lorena coaching staff after coaching at Hutto High School, where he served as the Wide Receivers Coach and Freshman Offensive Coordinator. His experience developing offensive skill players and coordinating a freshman offense provided him with a strong foundation in player development, offensive structure, and preparing young athletes for the varsity level.
At Lorena, Williamson works with the varsity secondary as the Cornerbacks Coach, focusing on technique, discipline, communication, physicality, and understanding the game. His responsibilities include developing defensive backs and preparing them to compete within the Lorena defensive system.
Williamson also serves as Lorena's Head Boys Track & Field Coach. Taking over the program in 2026, he has emphasized speed development, technical improvement, competition, and building a culture that develops athletes across multiple sports. During the 2026 season, Lorena's boys varsity track team finished third at the District 23-4A Championships, while the program produced multiple standout performances and continued to develop its next generation of athletes.
Under Williamson's leadership, the Lorena boys 4x400 relay continued to improve throughout the season, with a sophomore relay squad lowering its time from 3:37.95 to 3:31.09. Williamson has also helped create opportunities for Lorena athletes to compete at major meets, including the Texas Relays, while emphasizing collegiate opportunities for student athletes.
Before entering education and coaching, Williamson served 10 years in the United States Army, enlisting in 2014 and ultimately attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. His military career included leadership and advisory assignments and service throughout the Middle East and Afghanistan. That experience continues to influence his approach to coaching, particularly his emphasis on discipline, accountability, preparation, teamwork, and service.
Williamson's coaching philosophy is centered on developing the complete athlete. He believes success is built through daily preparation, high standards, accountability, and a commitment to the people around you.
His core values are:
SERVICE TO OTHERS
HONOR THE TEAM
EXPECT EXCELLENCE
TRUST THE PROCESS
Williamson continues to build his coaching career around one goal: developing student athletes who are prepared to compete at a high level and become leaders long after their playing careers are over.
